Fiber For Hemorrhoid Treatment

It has been believed that generally constipation and straining to have a bowel movement can promote hemorrhoids. Also a hard stool will traumatize the existing hemorrhoid. It is recommended that individuals who suffer from hemorrhoids increase their fiber intake. But don’t be fooled that only a hard stool can induce hemorrhoids. You can have diarrhea as well, and this will aggravate the symptoms of hemorrhoids and it is also recommended that these individuals increase their fiber too.
There are two types of fiber you can use to help increase your fiber intake. There is soluble and insoluble fiber. Insoluble fiber means that is has the ability to move through the intestine wholly. This type of fiber also has no nutritional value to the human body. The function of insoluble fiber is to add bulk to the stool. This enables the food to pass rapidly through the stomach and intestines. Examples of this would be wheat bran.

Soluble fiber is digested really, really long in the intestines. They dissolve in water. They are also often credited to help prevent high blood sugar and blood pressure. Soluble fiber slows digestion. This aids your body for absorbing essential nutrients from foods. A good example of soluble fiber can be found in peas, beans and apples. This is needed to make our body function properly, maintaining the balance. A normal person needs a variety of foods that contribute at least 35 grams of fiber in our body daily. Generally, food contains both fibers, but the percentage is not balanced. Grains, whole grains, fruits and vegetable, beans are amongst the most prominent sources of both fibers.
Recent statistics shows that on average we eat around 9 grams of fiber daily.  That is very low. So effort must be made to increase fiber intake. For people with hemorrhoids, good fiber intake means good bowel movements. This will speed up the process of healing, and also prevent a relapse if you have already healed. So remember fiber is essential! Even if you don’t have hemorrhoids, maintaining good fiber intake means you’re preventing it to happen to you.

This is a colorful and wholesome breakfast parfait and is nice and easy to make.


3/4 cup of sliced strawberries
3/4 cup blueberries
1 (6ounce) container of vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon of wheat germ
1/2 sliced banana
1/3 cup of granola


Layer 1/4 cup of strawberries, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/3 tablespoon wheat germ, 1/3 of the banana sliced, and about 2 table spoons of granola in a large bowl. Continue to build the parfait, repeating the layer until all of the ingredients are used completely.
